ASZ Aalst goes live with SteriLine
The first site of the ASZ (Algemeen Stedelijk Ziekenhuis) hospital group has gone live with SteriLine. After previously having implemented ORLine (the Operating Theatre management solution of Aexis Medical), the hospital now has started phase 2 with the automation of the CSSD. All 3 sites are expected to be up and running with SteriLine by the end of 2015.
The CHU Guadeloupe buys ORLine
The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire of Guadeoupe, located in the capital Point-à-Pitre, has decided to buy Aexis Medicals solution for the planning and management of its Operating Theatres. It is not the first time that Aexis Medical has sold and implemented its solutions in the Caribbean area, since several hospitals in Martinique are already operational with the same solution for a few years now. This new site should be up and running by the end of 2015.
Aexis Medical attends Africa Health in Johannesburg
For the first time in its history, Aexis Medical will attend the Africa Health Exhibition in Johannesburg from the 5th–7th May. Aexis Medical will not only have its own area on the Flanders Investment & Trade booth, but will also be present with its solutions on the booth of a local partner.
Aexis Medical attends VVOV
Aexis Medical attends this year's edition of the annual VVOV congress in Blankenberge. Next to live demos of the different solutions, visitors will also have the opportunity to have a sneak preview of the new ORLine and SteriLine versions that will be released later this year. The Pebbles smartwatch, that was raffled amongst the visitors who visited our booth and were able to answer some questions, was won by Iris Decostere of the AZ Delta Ziekenhuis Roeselare.
AZ. Sint Lucas Brugge buys EndoLine
AZ. Sint Lucas, client of Aexis Medicals SteriLine since 2013, has now decided to expand its installation with the newest product of Aexis Medical on the market: EndoLine. This solution supports the complete workflow of the Endoscopy department. It's expected to go live before the summer.
AZ. Sint Augustinus (Veurne) migrates from Oracle to Sql Server
AZ. Sint Augustinus is the first client of Aexis Medicals portfolio who has decided to migrate its production environment from Oracle to SqlServer. The hospital is a long time client for SteriLine and went live with ORLine only a couple of months ago. The migration went smoothly and will undoubtedly be the trigger for other Aexis Medical clients to migrate their systems to Microsofts database system away from Oracle.
AZ. Nikolaas (Sint-Niklaas) and Saint-Luc Bouge go live with SteriLine
Both hospitals decided some time ago to invest in Aexis Medicals complete CSSD management system and have now started up successfully. AZ Nikolaas has been a long time user of other solutions of the Aexis Medical product portfolio (ORLine, ERLine), while Saint-Luc Bouge has bought ORLine, but is still in the process of implementation.
Sint Andries Ziekenhuis chooses ORLine
The Sint Andries Ziekenhuis, a smaller hospital located near Ghent, has decided to invest in ORLine for the management and planning of their Operating Theatre. Go live is expected somewhere before the summer of 2015. Sint Andries previously invested in SteriLine and is currently preparing to go live with this system.
AZ. Sint Augustinus goes live with ORLine
After having bought and successfully installed SteriLine a couple of years ago, Sint Augustinus has now gone live with Aexis Medicals OR management system.

Notre Dame de Bruyères goes live with SteriLine
Notre Dame de Bruyères is one of the hospitals belonging to the CHU de Liège and was the first in line to go live. In the months to come, the other site Sart Tilman will be started up as well.
IFAC / VIVALIA goes live with SteriLine
The hospitals Ste. thérèse and Princesse Paola, both belonging to the VIVALIA group, have successfully started up succesfully their CSSD departement with SteriLine. The two other hospitals of the same group, CH de Libramont and Cliniques Sud de Luxembourg (Arlon), already started working with SteriLine in 2006 and 2008.
AZ Delta expands its EndoLine installation
After having decided to invest in ORLine for the planning and the management of its Operating Theatre (cfr. September 2014), the Stedelijk Ziekenhuis (part of the newly created hospital group AZ Delta) has now chosen EndoLine as the preferred ICT tool for the management of its Endoscopy department. The project covers the whole patient flow as well as the disinfection part of the material, offering 100% traceability.
AZ Delta expands its ORLine installation
As the merger of Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis and Stedelijk Ziekenhuis into AZ Delta comes to a conclusion, the management of the newly created hospital group has decided to invest in ORLine for the management and the planning of its operating theatres. Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis has been a happy client of Aexis Medicals complete portfolio since 2005, so the addition of the Stedelijk Ziekenhuis was a logical step.
AZ. Damiaan goes live with SteriLine
After the move into the new buildings some time ago, the merged hospital AZ Damiaan (Ostende near the coast) decided to buy SteriLine for the management of its CSSD department. This decision was part of a bigger tender covering all of the new CSSD's installation. With this startup, the hospital now has the complete OR-CSSD combination of Aexis Medical offering a full traceability. In the coming months, AZ Damiaan will also start implementing ORLines logistics modules to support the material management of the Operating Theater.
Sint Jozefkliniek Bornem – Willebroek buys SteriLine Mono
The Sint Jozefkliniek, a smaller hospital located near Sint-Niklaas, has decided to start coding their CSSD instruments and sets through SteriLine Mono. It is the second time in a short period that a hospital has bought this lean version of SteriLine to help them organize the CSSD. Only last month, Europaziekenhuizen also started working with this system.
CH de Verdun (France) chooses ORLine
The "Centre Hospitalier Intercommuncal Verdun – St. Mihiel" (France) has decided to buy Aexis Medicals solution for the planning and the complete management of the operating theater. The choice for ORLine was already made back in 2012, but the order was only released in august 2014. The implementation of the software will start after the summer.
Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis Mol acquires SteriLine
This mid range hospital has also decided to invest in SteriLine to support and organize their Central Sterilization Service Department. The hospital was already on the radar of Aexis Medical for a long time, but a deal was never closed due to organizational reasons linked to the hospitals fusion/de-fusion. In 2014, they have finally decided to go ahead, again adding a new client to Aexis Medicals long list of references.
Europaziekenhuizen buys SteriLine Mono
Europaziekenhuizen is a group of hospitals in the heart of Brussels that had their CSSD outsourced to a commercial partner. In the end, it turned out that this strategy was not the best solution for the hospitals, and recently they decided to re-invest and set up their own CSSD department. As a first step towards a professionally organized ward, the hospital has decided to buy SteriLine Mono to create their instrument catalogue and register their basic data.
Ziekenhuis Maas en Kempen buys SteriLine
The multiple site hospital "Maas en Kempen" that implemented Aexis Medicals ORLine in 2013, has now decided to also invest in the SteriLine solution. During negotiations in 2012-2013, an option was already taken on this part of MLine. The managers of the hospital have now decided that it was time to go into phase 2 and implement Aexis Medicals successful CSSD solution. Both sites of the hospital will be equipped, and the startup is expected around early 2015.
AZ. Sint Maarten invests in SteriLine
The multi site hospital AZ. St. Maarten (part of the Emmaus Group), located in the Antwerp area, has decided to install SteriLine in all of its 3 CSSD's. The hospital already acquired ORLine, the Operating Theatre suite of Aexis Medical, a couple of years ago. The first SteriLine site will go live early 2015, followed by the other sites in the second half of that year. SteriLine will replace the system that was developed internally in the hospital.
A.Z. Jan Portaels buys EndoLine
The hospital A.Z. Jan Portaels (Vilvoorde near Brussels) has decided to expand their existing SteriLine/ORLine installation with Aexis Medicals Endoscopy Management System EndoLine. This brand-new module allows the planning, organizing and registering of the complete workflow in the Endoscopy department as well as covering the whole reconditioning process of endoscopes. A.Z. Jan Portaels invested a lot in the reconstruction of its new Endoscopy ward last year and will start working with EndoLine in the second half of 2014.
Clinique St. Paul @ Martinique continues to invest in MLine
After a successful go live of ORLine in 2013, the hospital has now decided do extend the MLine platform and to do an additional investment in SteriLine to help them organize their CSSD. Clinique St. Paul is located in Fort de France, the capital of the Carribean island Martinique. The startup of the system is expected to take place during the summer of 2014.
Hôpital Saint Luc (Bouge) invests in ORLine and SteriLine
This regional hospital in the area of Namur, the French speaking part of Belgium, has decided to buy Aexis Medicals CSSD-OR combination to automate their respective OR and CSSD departments. Aexis Medicals solution for the OR will replace an existing OR system that was end-of-life. The OR-CSSD combination will allow the hospital to install a full-blown traceability and management system that covers both the complete OR and CSSD. Startup of SteriLine is expected around December 2014, with ORLine following sooin, around mid 2015.
ZOL Genk buys ORLine for an additional site
Being one of the first clients ever to have bought ORLine in 2006, the ZOL (Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg) has now decided to install ORLine as well in their St. Barbara hospital (Lanaken). With its 183 hospital beds, St. Barbara can be considered as the smaller site of the ZOL network. The startup of the system is expected even before the summer break.
A.Z. Vesalius expands ORLine to an additional site
As an early adapter of ORLine and SteriLine, the A.Z. Vesalius hospital acquired both Aexis Medicals systems in 2007. Since the hospital also has a surgery day clinic close by in Bilzen, it has now decided that this site should also install ORLine to optimize transparency and management of the operating theater. Startup of the new ORLine system will be done as soon as possible, probably in the summer of 2014.
Sint Andries Ziekenhuis chooses SteriLine
The Sint Andries Ziekenhuis, a smaller hospital and located near Ghent, has decided to buy SteriLine for the management and organization of their brand-new CSSD department. Live go Go live is expected somewhere after the summer of 2014. The deal has been closed together with a partner specialized in the construction of Washers and Sterilizers.

Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Liège acquires SteriLine
The University Hospital of Liège (CHU Liège), a leading University Hospital in the French speaking part of Belgium and a famous center for research and academic education with close to 900 beds, has chosen Aexis Medicals SteriLine for the management of their CSSD (Central Sterilization Service Dept.). Aexis won the official tender against well renowned competitors. The implementation of the system will start as soon as possible and the 'go live' is expected around the end of 2014. The project covers both the sites of "Sart Tilman" and "Notre Dame de Bruyères".
Centre Hospitalier de Cornouaille (Quimper, France) installs ORLine on a second site
This multi-site hospital in the west of France, that has been using ORLine since 2010 but only on its main site of Cornouaille, has now decided to expand the ORLine installation to its Douarnenez site as well. Therefore, the system will be reconfigured as a multi site system, covering both sites in an integrated way.
14th symposium at « the Lamot » in Mechelen (NL) and the « Franc Waret Castle » in Fernelmont (FR)
The Fourteenth edition of this annual symposium saw for the first time a separated organization for the French and Flemish speaking part of Belgium, the main reason being a better accessibility for the hospital professionals throughout the country. The 2 events (held on the first and seventeenth of October) welcomed almost double the amount of visitors compared to previous editions, confirming the increasing interest in the products of Aexis Medical. Several keynote speakers shared their experiences with the audience. Next to this, new versions of Aexis Medicals software were presented as well as some long-term visions. The symposium « anno 2013 » was undoubtedly the most successful edition of this event since Aexis Medical started out in 2004.
Sint Augustinus Hospital expands its MLine installation
After the successful implementation of SteriLine a couple of years ago, the A.Z. Sint Augustinus Hospital of Veurne (far west of Belgium) has now decided to expand their SteriLine implementation with the ORLine Operating Theater Planning- and Management system. SteriLine and ORLine are the flagship products of Aexis Medical and will form the core of the OR-CSSD heart. The hospital previously bought another OR management system that ultimately failed to meet the requirements of the hospital. ORLine will be up-and-running in the second half of 2014.
Hospital St. Paul, Fort de France (Martinique) expands its ORLine installation
After working a couple of months with the ORLine system, the hospital made the decision that more users should get access to the system and has therefore decided to buy additional licenses for the management and planning of their operating theater.
Sint-Lucas Ghent goes for ERLine
The A.Z. Sint-Lucas, located in the heart of Ghent and consisting of two campuses, the Volkskliniek and Sint-Lucas, is one of the biggest hospitals in Belgium. With its nearly 1000 hospital beds and one of the biggest ER departments around, it covers about 35% of the hospital care in the area. For the automation of its ER department (soon to be renewed and expanded), the hospital has chosen Aexis Medical (and ERLine) as the preferred partner. The site should be operational by the end of the year.
Sint-Jozef Ziekenhuis Malle invests in ORLine
The Sint-Jozef Ziekenhuis, located in Malle (near Antwerp) and part of the Emmaus Care Group, has decided to buy Aexis Medicals planning and management software for the Operating Theater. Go live of the system is expected somewhere around the start of 2014.
A.Z. Groeninge buys the Lasea Laser
The A.Z. Groeninge (Kortrijk), a long time SteriLine client, has decided to buy a laser device to uniquely identify instruments in the hospital. Next to the laser, the hospital has also bought SteriLines integration module and the interface with the Laser machine.
Sint-Lucas Bruges choses SteriLine
Following thorough negotiations, the Sint-Lucas Hospital (Bruges) has decided to invest in SteriLine for its Central Sterilization Service Department. Aexis Medicals solution stayed ahead of the systems offered by renowned international companies. The selection committee chose SteriLine because of its broadly recognized user friendliness, its install base and its flexible integration possibilities. SteriLine will be interfacing UZ Gasthuisbergs Clinical Workstation Solution, already used in the hospital.
A.Z. Sint-Augustinus Veurne moves to its new CSSD
The A.Z. Sint-Vincentius Ziekenhuis, longtime SteriLine client, has decided to carry out an important investment program related to the CSSD (Central Sterilization Service Department). Apart from moving to a new and bigger location, the hospital has also expanded the number of workstations equipped with the SteriLine system and ordered the interfaces with the new Washers and Sterilizers.
Stedelijk Ziekenhuis Aalst invests in ORLine and SteriLine
The Stedelijk Ziekenhuis Aalst has decided to buy Aexis Medicals CSSD-OR combination to automate their respective OR and CSSD departments. Aexis Medicals solutions will replace existing systems that were end-of-life and were poorly (not) integrated. Startup of ORLine is expected around December 2013, with SteriLine soon following in early 2014.
CHWapi Tournai expands ORLine
After settling down following the startup of the first ORLine site (Notre Dame), the hospital has now decided to buy more workstation licenses, allowing more staff to use ORLine and take even more advantage of the system at the different levels inside the hospital.
Hospital CHU Ambroise Paré (Mons) acquires SteriLine
This mid range hospital, linked to the university of Mons, has decided to invest in SteriLine to support and organize their Central Sterilization Service Department. Apart from the standard functionality, the CSSD department will also be equipped with interfaces between SteriLine and the existing Washers and Sterilizers.
CHU UCL Mont-Godinne - Dinant buys extra machine interfaces
The CHU UCL Mont-Godinne - Dinant, formerly known as "Centre Hospitalier de Dinant" and merged with the University Hospital at yvoir, continues to invest in the automation of its Sterilization Department (CSSD). After acquiring SteriLine in 2011, the hospital recently decided to install interfaces between SteriLine and the existing Washers and Sterilizers.
Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis Roeselare - Menen expands the ORLine setup
To be able to respond better to the internal information needs, the Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis has decided to expand the ORLine installation giving more people access to the system and offering extra functionality to them.

13th symposium at the Antwerp Zoo
The thirteenth edition of this annually held event was again a big success for Aexis Medical and the other Aexis companies. As for Aexis Medical, a lot of innovations were presented during the show, including EndoLine (the new complete management system for the Endoscopy Department), new features for ERLine (Emergency Department) and an integration with a localization system based on Ultrasound Technology.
Clinique Saint-Pierre Ottignies buys SteriLine
Clinique Saint-Pierre Ottignies, a mid-range hospital close to Louvain-La-Neuve, had shown interest in SteriLine for quite some time. Finally in september 2012, the hospital has now taken the decision to invest in Aexis Medicals complete traceability system for the CSSD (Central Sterilization Service Department). The go live of the system is expected around the end of 2013.
Heilig Hart Roeselare Expands ERLine
After the successful startup of the ERLine system last year, the Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis Roeselare - Menen has now decided to expand the current number of workstations. With the new layout, more people from outside the ER department will have access to the system offering more comfort and more transparent information.

AZ Jan Portaels extends the use of ORLine/SteriLine
AZ Jan Portaels, a mid-range hospital in the Brussels area and long time user of ORLine/SteriLine has again (see earlier this year) increased the number of workstations of Aexis Medicals Operating Theater and CSSD suite. The extension fits into the strategy of a broader rollout of the system onto the different wards.
Sint Franciscus Heusden-Zolder signs a contract to acquire SteriLine
Last but not least, the Sint Franciscus hospital (Heusden-Zolder) is the last hospital in 2011 to close a deal with Aexis Medical. The hospital purchases SteriLine for the computerized automation of the central sterilization service department (C SSD). Go live of the system is expected somewhere around the summer of 2012.
AZ Damiaan chooses SteriLine
The AZ. Damiaan, a mid-range hospital located at the North Sea (Oostende), has decided to buy SteriLine for the management and organization of the CSSD departement in their brand new hospital. This new building will bring together the former two sites (St. Jozef and Heilig Hart). Live go Go live is expected as from September 2012 on, after the new hospital has been inaugurated.
CH de Dinant decides to buy the ORLine-SteriLine suite
The general hospital AZ Vesalius has been using Aexis Medicals Operating Theatre suite for quite some time, and has now decided to extend its functionality with this optional management module. This extension makes it possible for the OR management to increase the utilization of the Operating Theatre and offers more transparent information on the performance of it, while gaining financial advantages as a consequence.

12e Aexis Symposium big success
The 12th edition of this annual group symposium (www.Aexisgroup.com) was one of the best in recent years. Not only in terms of the number of participants (most of the Belgian hospitals attended), but also because of the presented topics and the added value of the partners who were present. The next edition of the symposium will take place on October 23rd 2013.
The Amstelland hospital (Amstelveen, Holland) Chooses SteriLine
The Amstelland Hospital, located in the Amsterdam area, is a small, but nonetheless well performing hospital. The institution has decided to buy and use SteriLine for the organization and support of their Central Sterilization Services Department (CSSD). Apart from registering the complete re-processing cycle in the CSSD, the hospital will also use Aexis Medicals OR registration tool in the operating theatre to come to a complete traceability. The go live of the system is planned before the summer of 2012.
The hospitals CHU Fort de France and Clinique St. Paul de Clairières (Martinique) choose Aexis Medicals ORLine
Both hospitals, located in French overseas territories, will be using Aexis Medicals OR management tool to plan and organize their operating theatres. The implementation of the project will be executed by a local partner around the middle of 2012. This new deal is the first success for Aexis Medical, out of the European region.
AZ Jan Portaels invests in logistics management via ORLine
AZ Jan Portaels hospital (Vilvoorde) has already been using ORLine and SteriLine for a number of years. Now it has decided to expand the functionality of Aexis Medical's Operating Theatre management tool by adding the logistics module. In practical terms, this means that all operating theatre equipment will soon be managed through ORLine. This natural expansion of ORLine increases the department's transparency and will generate financial benefits over time.
AZ Sint-Maarten decides on ORLine
AZ Sint-Maarten, a big multi site hospital (Duffel and Mechelen) and part of the Emmaüs group, has decided to appoint Aexis Medical to handle the computerization of its Operating Room ward (ORLine). The aim is to have the first of the three sites working with the new system by the end of the year. The other sites will follow during the course of 2012.
Heilig Hart hospital Roeselare-Menen expands ORLine to its Menen site
Heilig Hart hospital has decided to roll out ORLine at its site in Menen. Until now, only the Roeselare site was equipped with Aexis Medical's Operating Room management tool. Now change is on the way. The new site should be up and running in the summer.
AZ Nikolaas chooses ERLine
Following on from the Heilig Hart hospital earlier this year, AZ Nikolaas hospital in Sint-Niklaas has decided to join the development process of Aexis Medical's new emergency application. Last year, the hospital purchased ORLine and SteriLine to manage its Operating Room ward and Central Sterilization Service Department. The expansion to ER comes in the wake of a far-ranging market survey in which the various existing systems were weighed up in comparison with ERLine. The new ER application will be brought into service after the summer break.
MCH Leuven expands MLine
The Medisch Centrum Huisartsen in Leuven, which has been using the MLine medical records system for a number of years already, has decided to expand the existing functionalities by implementing improved integration between MLine and the RX management system already in use. The expansion will come into service during the first quarter of 2011.

Heilig Hart hospital Roeselare-Menen joins the ERLine project
Heilig Hart hospital Roeselare-Menen has decided to invest in a pilot project as part of Aexis Medical's development of a brand-new application for managing the Emergency department at the hospital. There had been talk for some time of expanding the MLine portfolio (consisting of Operating Theatre Suite and CSSD management) into that direction, but with the support of one on the largest hospitals in Belgium, the project has been stepped up a gear. Both of the hospital's campuses (Menen and Roeselare) will receive the new package (ERLine). Start up at the first site will be around summer 2011.
OLV van Lourdes Hospital (Waregem) opts for SteriLine
Onze Lieve Vrouw hospital in Waregem plans to use SteriLine for the Track & Tracing of its instruments and sets for the brand-new Central Sterilisation Department in the hospital's "new-build" project. Completion work on the new department is well underway and SteriLine is scheduled to go live by the summer of 2011.
AZ Jan Portaels expands its licences
The AZ Jan Portaels hospital (Vilvoorde), which has been a client of ORLine and SteriLine for some time, has purchased additional modules and licences from Aexis Medical's CSSD and Operating Room management system. The expansion was necessary because increasing numbers of internal staff were wanting to use the system.
Regionaal Ziekenhuis Tienen verkiest SteriLine
The Regional Hospital Tienen has decided to buy SteriLine for the complete management of the existing CSSD (Central Sterilization Service Department) in the hospital. Aexis Medical had already long and close contacts with the hospital and is now chosen as the preferred partner for the computerization of the department. The startup of the system is planned by the end of 2010.
AZ Nikolaas (Sint-Niklaas) chooses the MLine suite
After a thorough selection process, the hospital Nikolaas, near Antwerp, has decided to start working with Aexis Medicals solutions. This merged hospital, consisting of five campi (2 x Sint-Niklaas, Temse, Beveren & Hamme) will equip all operating rooms and Central Sterilisation Departments with ORLine and SteriLine respectively. The implementation of the various sites is spread over time and will probably be completed by end 2011.
Hôpital Max Fourestier (Nanterre, FR) buys ORLine
Almost simultaneously with the "Centre Hospitalier de Cornouaille" (Quimper, FR), the Max Fourestier hospital has decided to invest in ORLine. This Parisian hospital, located along the Seine, will start working with Aexis Medicals OR management- and planning tool in the autumn of 2010. In the last 6 months, already 4 French hospitals have qualified ORLine as the preferred tool for the automation of their OR ward.
Centre Hospitalier de Cornouaille (Quimper, FR) chooses ORLine
Following the "Centre Hospitalier Jacques Coeur" of Bourges (France) in february this year, another French hospital chooses to work with the Operating Room solution of Aexis Medical. The "Centre Hospitalier de Cornouaille", located in the far west of France (Quimper, Brittany) will be the third French ORLine customer in a short period of time. The startup of the system is expected around autumn 2010.
AZ Groeninge (Kortrijk) moves, SteriLine moves along
The fusion of Courtrais 4 main hospitals towards one single site is a tremendous organizational "tour de force". In April, the first site moved to the new location, moving SteriLine (in use since 2008) along. To be able to cope with the new local settings, SteriLine had to be reconfigured with new parameters, making it now ready to become one big single site, instead of a multiple 4-site installation. One down, three to go.
St. Anna Zorggroep Geldrop (NL) develops a Proof Of Concept.
The St. Anna Zorggroep, a satisfied user of both SteriLine and ORLine since 2008, has succesfully set up a Proof of Concept in order to test webservices as the new standard for exchanging data between the medical applications inside the hospital. The system was developed in close collaboration between the hospital, Aexis Medical and IBM.
AZ. Sint Augustinus Veurne goes for SteriLine
After having bought SteriLine Mono in 2008 (definition of basic data), the hospital has now decided to expand the installation to make it a full CSSD system. Next to SteriLine, the medical institution also bought the basic registration module for the OR, in order to attain a 100% traceability. Live go of this project is expected by the end of 2010.

Grand Hôpital de Charleroi (GHdC) buys ORLine and SteriLine
In 2008 merged hospital GHdC, made up of the "Centre Hospitalier Notre Dame et Reine Fabiola (CHNDRF)" (2 sites), and the "Hôpitaux Gilly" (3 sites), has choosen ORLine and SteriLine for the planning and management of their Operation Room and Central Sterilization Service Departement. This new deal is a major expansion project that covers the 3 hospitals of the "Hôpitaux Gilly" group. CHNDRF already chose the ORLine-SteriLine combination at the end of 2007 and started-up during 2008, to their satisfaction. The 5 hospitals, all located in the Charleroi region, will now move towards Aexis Medicals ORLine and SteriLine.

The regional hospital "C.H.R. de Huy", has choosen SteriLine as the complete management system for their CSSD (Central Sterilisation Service Department). Aexis Medical had already goods contacts with this hospital for quite some time, since it has been a longtime client of Aexis BI, the business intelligence unit of Aexis. University Hospital Brussels Acquires SteriLine
The University Hospital Antwerpen (UZA - Edegem), a leading University Hospital in Belgium and famous centre for research and academic education, has chosen Aexis Medicals SteriLine for the management of the CSSD (Central Sterilization Service Dept.). The implementation of the system will start in the fall of 2008 and the "live go" is expected around spring 2009. The University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel, formerly known as AZ. VUB), one of the top-clinical hospitals in Belgium and a leading centre for clinical research and academic education, has decided to equip its brandnew CSSD with SteriLine, Aexis Medicals topproduct for the complete management of the Central Sterilization Department. Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (Genk) implements an additionnal SteriLine site
Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL), a long time user of SteriLine, and one of the original pilot sites of the product, has decided to equip one of their additional sites with SteriLine (St. Barbara, Lanaken). Configuration and startup of the new site occured during mars 2008 and went smoothly since most of the users already had some hands-on experience with the system.

The St. Anna Zorggroep, a regional hospital located close to Eindhoven (Holland), will be the second reference site in Holland for Aexis Medical. Previously the Amphia hospital (Breda), one of the biggest hospitals in Holland, already choose SteriLine as their product for the tracking and tracing of sterile CSSD materials. St. Anna Zorggroep is now to become the second institution in Holland that will be using Aexis Medicals SteriLine software and also adds ORLine (Operating Theatre management) to the project. Again, the close integration between both products and their indisputable added value to both the OR and the CSSD convinced the project taskgroup. The startup should take place somewhere mid 2008.
AZ. Groeninge (Kortrijk) implements SteriLine
AZ. Groeninge, a merge of 4 hospitals located in the West Flanders area, and one of the biggest hospital groups in Belgium (close to 1100 recognized beds), has choosen SteriLine as the solution for the complete management of the CCSD. As from 2009, when the different sites will start moving towards a completely new centralized state-of-the-art building, SteriLine will be the heart of the new impressive CSSD. For the time being, the system will be rolled out on the 4 different sites, in a normal Multi-Site configuration.
CHR du Val de Sambre (Auvelais) chooses ORLine
Centre Hospitalier Regional du Val de Sambre has decided to buy ORLine for the complete management of the OR. The hospital is already a longtime client of the SteriLine product and has seen the whole evolution of the products since the beginning. The general hospital "AZ. Jan Portaels", founded in 2002 as the merger of the "St. Jozef Ziekenhuis" and the "Van Helmont Ziekenhuis" (both located in Vilvoorde) has decided to equip the Operating Ward and the Central Sterilisation Service Department (CSSD) with both ORLine and SteriLine. The hospital holds about 500 recognized beds and is currently in the full process of investing in modern technology. Implementation of both systems will start ASAP. AZ Jan Portaels is already the third hospital this year that chooses ORLine as the best buy for the planning and the management of the Operating Ward.

The hospital "Heilig Hartziekenhuis Roeselare-Menen" has decided to buy and implement Aexis Medicals ORLine Operating Theatre Management System. This integrated system allows to plan and manage the complete operating theater process. After the acquisition of the Hospital Paul Brien (Brussels), CHU Brugmann has decided to equip the nuclear department of this new satellite hospital with Aexis Medicals MLine NIS (Nuclear Information System). The 8th Aexis Symposium
The 8th Aexis Symposium, organised in the SportOase Leuven on september 21, was again a big success. More than 120 people attended the Aexis Medical session and witnessed the presentations of 2 famous experts in the field : Geert Ballyn (Chief CSSD, Heilig Hart Ziekenhuis Roeselare-Menen) and Jos Vanoppen (Manager Operating Dept., Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg Genk). During the presentations, the 2 guestspeakers shared their experiences and insights in an entertaining way. The main subjects were the testimony of the development and implementation of a CSSD-system and the Return on Investement of an OR-management system. Next to these sessions, practical demonstrations of ORLine and Steriline were performed to present the most recent functionalities of the software.
Hospital "Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg" (Genk, BE) extends MLine Archives
Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg (ZOL) has been working for years with Aexis Medicals MLine Archive Management system. This module will now be extended with scanning functionality in order to offer a complete Electronic Health Record Archiving system (paper and digital), allowing the users to have access to the archives from anywhere inside the hospital. Start-up of the new module is expected by the end of 2006.

The regional hospital Ste. Anne – St. Remi (Anderlecht, near Brussels) is already the thirth hospital in a row (2006) that invests in Steriline, the complete management system for Central Sterilisation Departments. After two bigger hospitals (Citadelle and Amphia, see higher), now a smaller hospital also decides that Steriline is the best offer in the market. This confirms that Steriline is indeed a highly flexible and configurable system that can be implemented in different sizes of hospitals. Live go of the new system is expected around spring 2007.
Het Amphia Ziekenhuis (Breda, NL) kiest voor Steriline
On the 1st of may 2006, Aexis Medical reached an agreement with the Amphia Ziekenhuis (Breda, Holland) for the purchase of Steriline, the management system for the Central Sterilisation Service Department (CSSD). Amphia is a fusion of 4 hospitals in the Breda region and is the biggest hospital in Holland (~ 1.400 beds). Currently, it holds 3 locations, all of them to be equipped with the Steriline system. Needless to say that Aexis' Medical division is very happy with this achievement. Not only is this the first sale of Steriline outside the borders of Belgium, it is also a top reference in Holland. The first site will be launched around the thirth quarter of 2006 ; the next 2 sites will follow somewhere in the fall.
A.Z. Diest (BE) installeert XLine Nucleaire upgrade
Following earlier communications related to the University Hospital Brugmann (February 2006 ), a second client of Aexis Medicals Nuclear Information System (NIS) has ordered the technology upgrade. The new Dicom technology will be used to interface with the new camera (Siemens) that the hospital has bought and will be installed during the month of may 2006. As already mentioned, more of this is to be expected in the coming months.
M.C.H. (Leuven, BE) investeert in de MLine Aliassing Engine
The "Medisch Centrum Huisartsen" is a policlinic (2 sites : Leuven-Wezembeek) that has been using Aexis Medicals Electronic Health Record system MLine since 2004. To tackle the growing problem of patient duplicates, the policlinical center now invests in the additional MLine module "Aliassing Engine". With this module, all patient duplicates are hunted down and eliminated. Needless to say that this will save a huge amount of non-productive time while performing the management of patient data.
CHU Brugmann (Brussels, BE) buys XLine Nuclear upgrade
University Hospital Brugmann (Brussels) is the first hospital to invest in the upgrade of its Aexis Medical NIS (Nuclear Information System). The current system (part of the Aexis Medical MLine product) has been used for years but was in certain areas no longer up-to-date with the current needs. New technology will be used to interface with the camera's and for the interfacing with the other IT systems. This upgrade is the first step in a migration process away from the 4D technology to the new java (XLine) platform. Other hospitals, currently using the 4D NIS as well, are more then interested in this migration proces.
The Citadelle hospital (Luik, BE) chooses Steriline
After a long period of orientation, the Citadelle hospital in Liège (one of the biggest hospitals in Belgium) has choosen Steriline, the complete management system for the Central Sterilisation Service Department (CSSD) of the hospital. Head of the department, Charly Maréchal, is a famous expert in the domain of hospital sterilisation and is active in several sterili-organisations in Belgium. The fact that he has choosen Aexis Medicals flagship is a very important signal to the rest of the market.

Aexis Medical sluit een samenwerkingsovereenkomst met UCB Pharma
UCB Pharma, de toonaangevende bio-farmaceutische firma met notering op Euronext en gevestigd te Anderlecht (Brussel) zal in samenwerking met Aexis Medical een gespecialiseerd Electronisch Medisch Dossier ontwikkelen voor het departement Neurologie van het Universitair Ziekenhuis Gent. Op basis van het flexibele XLine platform zullen Aexis Medical/UCB Pharma een applicatie op maat bouwen voor dit departement. Het systeem zal toelaten om epilepsie patienten op te volgen en specifieke parameters te registreren. De hiermee opgebouwde onderzoeksdatabase zal verder toelaten om diverse medicaties en hun werking statistisch te analyseren. XLine-Epilepsie wordt geïntegreerd in het ziekenhuisbreed medisch dossier van het UZ Gent. De "live-go" van het systeem is voorzien in oktober 2006. XLine maakt deel uit van Aexis Medicals MLine productsuite.
Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg (Genk, BE) kiest ORLine
Het Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL, Genk) zal voor de organisatie en beheer van het nieuwe operatiekwartiercomplex gebruik maken van ORLine, het compleet OK-managementsysteem dat onderdeel is van de MLine productsuite. De opstart van het nieuwe operatiekwartiercomplex is voorzien medio 2006. Het ZOL is reeds gebruiker van Steriline, een andere module van MLine, en streeft met deze nieuwe investering niet alleen een optimale organisatie van het Operatiekwartier na, maar ook een efficiëntere samenwerking tussen beide diensten CSA en OK.
